Shenzhen Topway New Energy has unveiled significant progress in its racing drone battery technology, emphasizing enhancements in power delivery, lightweight design, and durability for both competitive and industrial drone applications. The company has engineered a high-discharge lithium cell formulation aimed at reducing internal resistance and improving ion transport. Topway’s 1300mAh 6S battery pack can reportedly sustain continuous discharge currents over 130A, ensuring stable power output during demanding flight conditions while minimizing voltage drop.
To boost conductivity and reduce heat generation, Topway has implemented a low-resistance electrode manufacturing process. This innovation is designed to enhance flight efficiency, extend battery lifespan, and ensure consistent performance during extended high-load operations like drone racing and aerial filming. The batteries are constructed with ultra-thin aluminum-laminated packaging and a reinforced structural design to enhance impact resistance without adding unnecessary weight, thereby improving the power-to-weight ratio and increasing durability in outdoor settings.
The battery packs come equipped with an integrated battery management system that actively balances cells and protects against overcharging, over-discharging, short circuits, and other electrical faults. This system facilitates fast charging while helping to prolong battery life. Topway claims that its battery packs can retain over 80% of their original capacity after more than 300 charge cycles, operating efficiently in ambient temperatures up to 60°C. A standard 14.8V 1300mAh lithium polymer battery weighs under 175 grams and can handle burst discharge currents exceeding 200A for brief periods.
Topway assures that its products meet several international standards, including UL, CE, RoHS, IEC62133, and IEC62619. Furthermore, its manufacturing processes are certified under ISO 9001:2015, underscoring the company’s commitment to quality and safety standards. These advancements reflect Topway’s dedication to pushing the boundaries of drone battery technology, catering to the needs of both enthusiasts and professionals in the drone industry.
